Tree hierarchy: ... > Building > Roof

Roof tree objects are hierarchically organized under Building tree objects.



The Roof object, when selected, provides an entry point to the roof data on the Properties For: Roof dialog. Here, you can view basic roof data such as the referenced DGN file and model used to design the roof as well as the level (elevation) of the roof.

Roof pop-up menu

The Roof tree object provides context for additional options on the following pop-up menu:

SettingDescription
Show/Hide roof Used to toggle between on and off the display of the selected roof. When the roof is displayed, the pop-up menu option changes to Hide roof. When the roof is not displayed, the pop-up menu option changes to Show roof.
Design roof Used to activate the roof model for edits. Selecting Design roof enables the Roofs tab. where the roof creation and modification tools are located.
Setup roofs to floors Used to associate the roof definition with one of the building’s floors. When the roof is associated with a floor, the selected roof’s objects become part of the building. Selecting Setup roofs to floors opens the Set up roofs for building dialog which is where roof definitions are matched to floors.
Delete roof Used to delete the roof.
Rename Used to rename the roof.
Properties Opens the Properties For: Roof dialog where roof properties can be viewed and modified.
